So I know I just barely posted about Halloween themed goodies we made last year, and then I saw these and had to try them for this year. Katie had several friends over yesterday...and we needed treats for Family Home Evening...so Becca and I made these together during the day.
I was inspired by these Chocolate Pumpkin Cupcakes from Diane of Created by Diane posted on My Yellow Sandbox.
They just looked simple and fun...
...and they were.
You just make an orange "rose" and add some leaves in green. Basically you use a large open star tip, start in the middle, and swirl around until the cupcake is covered. (You can see this post here on Glorious Treats if you've never done it before.)
We baked up the chocolate pumpkin cupcakes Diane shares. The adults all thought they were
delicious...although I think the kids would have preferred regular
unspiced chocolate cupcakes. Since the cupcakes were a little spicy, I
skipped the pumpkin spice in the cream cheese and just used regular
cream cheese frosting.
And I had to have Eric pick some more chocolate cake mixes up at the store last night because I already though of some other fun Halloween cupcakes I want to try.
If you want to see some of last years goodies, you can check out the post here...
lease show my sponsors some love...
Cute, Polly!
ReplyDeleteThese are so super cute and easy to do! Love it!
ReplyDeleteHow in the world do you get you frosting so perfect? I'm pretty sure if I tried this that my frosting would make it look more like...well...a smashed pumpkin.
ReplyDeleteYou did a beautiful job. I love the simple look of it. Thanks for sharing, and thanks for linking up to Point of View!

Love these! (I'm inspired by Created By Diane all the time, too!!) This frosting technique is beautiful.
