Another Denim Ruffled Skirt

Sorry, this is really just a show-off post.  I'm just in love with these recycled denim skirts and had to show off my newest one!  (You can see the tutorial for these here.)
I had a pretty productive sewing binge last Saturday.  In just a few hours, I fixed the zipper in Hubby's suit pants, made Boy some new church pants, and sewed another denim ruffle skirt for Sweet Pea.  The skirt had already been cut out, had the strips sewed together and had the edges surged a while ago, so over the half the work was done.
This one is pretty much the same as the caterpillar skirt I made for her, but it's just a bit fuller.
I originally planned to put the same flowers as the pants (that match the onesie) on the skirt as well, but I wanted to get it done quickly.  Maybe I'll add the flowers later...or maybe I'll leave it plain.
Sweet Pea is mostly indifferent to her clothes, but she seemed to like the skirt.  Mostly she just thinks it's fun to run away when it's time to get dressed...until it's fun to put her clothes on and run around.
You can find the directions for appliquing the flowers here.  I'm hoping to have a tutorial for the leggings up soon.
And a note to Auntie Angela...the kids STILL love playing with this old scooter you rescued from the trash...even Sweet Pea.

  1. Adorable! I love the fuller skirt. So wonderful that you can recycle a pair of jeans to make this.
