Rainbow Sarah Jane Magic Quilt

Even though most of our favorite Harry Potter characters are in Gryffindor and we don't get to know many Ravenclaws well beyond Luna and a bit of Cho, I've always had a fondness for Ravenclaw.  I've often figured that my 11-year-old-brainy-and-not-so-brave-self would have been sorted into Ravenclaw had I gotten my acceptance letter to Hogwarts (if of course there had been any Harry Potter world back then.)

Not only because it's fun to create things for the other Hogwarts houses, but also because the customer wanted a Golden Snitch on the back instead of the Deathly Hallows symbol.  

I'd had a hard time deciding between a Deathly Hallows symbol or golden snitch on the first quilt, so I was happy to try the snitch out.

I decided it was high time that I combine two of what have become the recent main themes on my blog and combine quilting and Harry Potter...so I give you the Harry Potter inspired Gryffindor and Deathly Hallows Quilt.

I wanted something that would be simple to sew together.

 

Something that would not be cheesy or cartoony.
