My Little Cheerleader

Have I mentioned we LOVE the town we've moved to?  It's an awesome place.  There are a lot of things we like about it.

One of them is that they have some fun extracurricular activities that even the kindergarteners can do that don't cost much money.  Last week Firecracker attended a Mini-Cheer/Dance Camp.  It was three days of practice afterschool and then they performed at the football game Friday night.  She LOVED it.
Several of her kindergarten friends did it too, so they all had fun together.  They got T-shirts as their "uniform," so I made her some matching capris...from you guessed it...a thrift store T-shirt (same one as Hubby's chair) and applique.  Just like what I did here.  Then I made Sweet Pea some capris of her own with the ruffle hem.

And just for fun, here are some shots of Firecracker dancing.
You can always tell which one she is because she's the one in the yellow pants.
She did a great job and had a lot of fun.  There were plenty of other girls, so no problems with stage fright.
And the end is blurry, but I thought she looked cute with her arms up.

This is just the first of many town footballs we'll go too...but I doubt the kids will last much beyond half-time. :)

  1. Very cute idea, especially since it makes it that much easier to find her!

  2. Great idea! I'll bet she had a lot of fun. Way to make some thrifty spirit clothes for your girls!
