Old Projects Put to a Good Use

Okay, I hope you'll forgive me, but I just had to post these pics.  Remember the T-shirt dress I made for Firecracker last summer?  I had no idea then, she'd actually get to wear it in Hawaii(You can click here for the tutorial and pattern.)

After Firecracker was sooooo good for all the wedding pictures at her birthmom's wedding, I took her for a little picnic at the beach before heading to the reception.

She humored me by letting me take a few pictures of her in it before running into the waves in her swimsuit.

Some of the playing-in-the-waves-in-her-swimsuit pics turned out amazing...but I'm a paranoid mom, so you don't get to see them.  Except this one.
This was one of the highlights of her whole trip to Hawaii...gettting "run-over" by a wave.  This isn't the actually "run-over" picture because after this one, I figured I better put the camera down, so I could rescue her if she needed without sacrificing the camera.  Later she got "run-over" more...and she's told EVERYONE how much fun it was...and that after she got "run-over" mom made her come in closer because "Mom got worried."

I had planned on us just playing in the water a bit because I didn't want her hair to get wet and messed up.  Uh...it got wet and messed up.  She still showed up presentable at the reception though.

Which brings me to our second old project...Remember this towel dress/cover-up?  It's still a favorite at our house...and in Hawaii.
