Little Brother was pulling candy off the gingerbread house and sharing it with Sweet Pea. We really do want to encourage them to get along and help each other...but the gingerbread house has got to go.
It was fun while it lasted, though.
The kids loved decorating it...and maybe half of the candy actually made it onto the house.
Firecracker actually got pretty good at making icicles, and was quite proud to tell people hers were better than dad's.
Here was our finished house...before all the holiday goodies dried up, and the kids started pulling candy off it to get their sugar fix.
Most of the other Christmas stuff is packed away in the garage again, and the gingerbread house is going to go missing...shhhhh...don't tell the kids I had anything to do with it.
Last year we had the same issue... I found my much too small little girl with a hard candy in her mouth! I knew it wan't something we had in the house so it was obvious that it came from the gingerbread house... When I asked my older daughter if she had taken it off the gingerbread hose she swore up and down that she hadn't. Later we found out that in fact she hadn't taken it OFF the house but rather she had stuffed the inside of the house with candy when we weren't looking and had been taking the door off to get to it so we hadn't noticed anything until we looked closer at the door and noticed the icing was cracked! lol Little stinkers! lol Glad I'm not the only one!:)
