I think my blog got sick...

...and threw up all over my sidebars...you know with buttons and links and lists all over the place.  (Not unlike how my living room looks occassionally.

When I first started blogging, I started with a few things in my sidebars and then as I've kept adding to them, you can see what's happened.

What started out as an "I've Been Featured On" spot showing off the first two or three blogs that highlighted an idea (because I was so darn excited and flattered I had to show you all) has grown into quite a list.  (Thanks to all of you who've featured something!  No one would know about my blog without you.)

I've known for a while that my blog is a bit too cluttered, but now I'm finally going to do something about it.  Here's where I need your help.  What stuff in the sidebars do you like?  Which things do you think should go?  For instance, I love my little list of "Projects to Do."  I see you all taking a peek at those projects yourselves...but the list is growing longer far faster than I can cross of projects and it's threatening to eat the whole left sidebar.  Most of the stuff that goes, will probably go on a seperate page you can click on.

Anyway, I don't specifically solicit comments very often, but please, please let me know what you like and what you don't like...even though it's a little lame to ask you now, since I probably will have moved a lot of things before you see this.  If so, check out those other pages tabs at the top and see if there's something you want to see back.

  1. I don't really have a whole lot of input on your sidebars. Except to say that I won't be at all offended if you take down The Skinny button. I haven't even remembered to post for the past couple of weeks. But, of course, it's up to you. I'm excited to see how you change things! :)

  2. My favorite part about your blog is the actual posts. But I'd love to know how to go quickly to some of the projects you've written tutorials for in the past. So I like the idea of being able to click to another page that would help me find cool tutorials from earlier posts.

  3. I read most of my blogs in Google Reader so I don't see the sidebars very often. When I do visit blogs I like to see an "about" story on the side (makes the blog feel more personal to me) and even a link to "most popular posts." The most popular posts link is nice if it's a first visit to the blog -you can really get a feel for what the blog is all about. Oh, and a direct link to tutorials is always really nice too!

  4. What I really love is on dana-made-it.com she has all the links at the top under her title. I love that her tutorials and some of her post tags are so easy to find on the page it takes you to.
It's also great to have the top five or so projects people visit you in a side bar. I'm so excited for your popularity! 567 followers!? You're amazing.
