When your kids are too quiet...

...they might be outside doing something like this.
Firecracker being "sneaky" teaching Sweet Pea and the Boy (I really need to find a new blog name for him) to use water colors.  She came in to get more paper, so I asked her what she needed it for and she wouldn't tell me.  She didn't know I'd already seen them.  What do you do when your kids are doing something so sweet, but are being sneaky about it thinking they're being a bit naughty?

  1. When they are being sneaky, but they are doing something good, I just leave them alone. I'm sure that's probably not the best response, but it's more fun that way. Plus, if I say anything about knowing what's going on, Princess immediately stops and says "You ruin everything!" It's not worth the fight, it's simply wonderful.

  2. Haha - what do you do? You take a picture and record the memory. Kids deserve to own some things all to themselves. You're being a good mom, making sure everything is on the up-and-up, but not interfering in their autonomy.

  3. So sweet . . . all three playing together. It's moments like these I wish I had a little tape recorder and not just a camera, so i could hear their conversations. What do they talk about in sneaky stolen moments?

  5. You could call "boy" "brother" instead. Just an idea. Also, I think it is totally cute what they are doing here. Nothing is really going wrong, so I say let it go. Great picture!
