Here are a few of my favorite ways to pamper a child with a cold
Flannel nose wipers...also known as burp cloths. They're soft and gentle on those little noses. I made a set especially to be nose wipers for Becca about a year ago out of scraps. Lots of flannel burp cloth tutorials here.
Favorite Pillow...Grandma made gingerbread pillow cases for the kids a year or two ago and they use them year round. (If you're a Grandma looking for a gift idea...that's an easy one.) And yeah, I know it's a little random to have a piggy bank in the picture, but we couldn't find the stuffed pig.
Lemon-Honey Tea...soothes her throat, tastes good, and gives an extra boost of vitamin C. You can see more about it here.
Funny Books! Snuggling up for some reading is always good, bet even better to get their minds off a cold if the books are funny. Okay, I'm probably one of the last children's books enthusiasts on the planet to have heard of these. The kids' school librarian recommend them for Seth. Mo Willems has several series of books that are easy to read and FUNNY! They kind of like graphic novels for beginning readers. We just happened to have Pigs Make Me Sneeze by Mo Willems in the pile I'd checked out for Seth.
What are your favorite comforts for the Common Cold? Have any favorite funny books?

This is an awesome list. Need to write it down, and start making nose wipers. I know I have a bunch of scrap flannel pieces. This will be awesome!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
I love this post! Such a nice idea. Colds just make you feel rubbish - little things like this sure can help! Thanks for sharing!
