All the piping was done with ziploc baggies with a corner cut off. All these took was half a batch of cream cheese frosting. I didn't even get a bowl dirty to make the green eyes. I just put a spoonful of frosting in a ziploc baggie with a drop or two of green food coloring and mashed it up, then snipped off the corner to do the piping. Then I used mini-chocolate chips we already had on hand for the middle of the eyes rather than coloring more frosting.
The kids LOVED them. Most of the work in decorating them was in making the frosting itself, so you could turn this into a super duper easy decorating job if you used store bought frosting.
Or make it even easier and leave out the cupcakes altogether and just frost some graham crackers. (You know I had to use up the last of the frosting on something after the kids were in bed.)
Or if you're looking for some other monster cupcake goodness that are super cute, and still not too much work, you might try some of these.
I don't know if I'll find time to try any of them, I've been pinning lots of other fun Halloween goodies that seem doable on Pinterest here.
My son would love these cupcakes. I love the monster one with the googly eye. I nominated you for a versatile blogger award. You can stop by to find out more: http://lifelivedinunknown.blogspot.com/2011/10/versatile-blog-award.html
