I always love when Blogger's Quilt Festival comes around. I've met some of my best online quilting friends this way. If you've never participated in the Blogger's Quilt Festival before, you should! It's open to everyone. You can find out more details about it here.
I'm entering my Wee Wander Triangle Quilt into the Scrap Quilts Category. All of the triangles are scraps from cutting out the hexagons for my Wee Wander Hexagon Quilt.
With so many identically shaped triangles, I just couldn't resist making their own quilt out of them.
The solid on the front is Kona Cotton in Jade. At first I thought it was a little too dark for all the light, airy prints, but it contrasts nicely with the turquoise Wee Wander prints, and I think the lighter colored back offsets it nicely.
For the back I used Kona Cotton in Pond with an accent strip with some of the Wee Wander I had left over.
I did the quilting on my home machine in diamonds. I basically quilted on each side of all the diagonal seams in the quilt and skipped quilting on the horizontal lines. I just love the crinkly look that the quilt gets after it's been washed!
This pattern would work with any size triangle. You just need a lot of them! My triangles were 5 inches along each side. The ratio of solid to print triangles is about 2:1...so roughly 2/3 of the triangles are solid and 1/3 of the triangles were the Wee Wander scrap triangles.
This quilt is available for purchase in my Pieces by Polly Shop here.
Please show my sponsors some love...
