We just couldn't help making another Harry Potter themed Valentine this year...and I've made a non-Valentine version too if you want to use these as party favors. The kids wanted something different from the Wingdardium LOVE-iosa Printable Valentine's from last year, and as much as we love the Printable Dementos and Dementor Relief Chocolate Bar wrappers, they just seemed like overkill for valentines for classmates.) I was brainstorming ideas for the Anti-Dementor themed Chocolate Bar Wrappers with my brother a couple weeks ago, when the idea came to me for Dementor's Kiss-Away.
And once we'd had the idea...they just HAD to be made. The double meaning in Kiss-Away is just too awesome, and hey...it involves chocolate. What more do I need to say.
Fortunately Katie was on board for giving these as Valentine's (because...you know...if she didn't want to give these as valentines then we'd have to eat them all ourselves.)
And as long as I was making them for us, I figured I'd go ahead and share the printable.
Supplies: You'll need...
- The printable. Get the Dementor's Kiss-Away Valentine Printable here. You can get the (non-Valentine) Dementor's Kiss-Away Printable here in case you want to use these as party favors.
- Cardstock - I used parchment cardstock because I had it on hand, but you could use any color.
- Hershey Kisses
- Ziploc or other baggies
- Stapler
- Scissors
- Pen
Directions:
Start by cutting the printable into quarters. You can use scissors, a paper cutter, or in my case...I used my quilting ruler and rotary cutter. (I didn't include cut-lines because it's a pet peeve of mine for them to show when you do the cutting...so if you need a line to follow, you can fold the paper in half each way.) You'll get 4 labels from each piece of cardstock.
Fold each label in half.
Ideally, you'd have cute little treat bags...but I didn't. I used zip-seal bags and cut the zipper part off, leaving a lot of headroom.
Add your Hershey Kisses. I put 6 or 7 in ones for special friends (not in the kids' classes). We put 3 in the ones for the kids classmates...because let's face it. They get a ton of candy at their class Valentine's party.
Push the kisses to one side and fold the bag over the back until it's approximately the same width as our label.
Put label over the top of the bag.
And staple. I stapled it twice, once on each side.
Then all you've got left to do is add names.
Who would you give Dementors' Kiss-Aways to?
