Hermione Visits the Library - CraftingCon

I while back I was invited to participate in CraftingCon hosted by Maegan at Mae and K and Amy at Friends Stitched Together.  CraftingCon (think ComicCon for crafting bloggers) has a different geek/book/fandom theme each month, and I knew I wanted in as soon as I heard that the first month had a Harry Potter theme.

If you follow me on Instagram @piecesbypolly, you've seen some sneak peeks of what I've been working on.  Entries for Crafting Con are supposed to be inspired by the fandom theme, but practical enough for everyday use...stuff you could wear to the grocery store.  I decided to take the Harry Potter theme and narrow it down to things that Hermione would wear and bring with her to the library...

So I used the Hermione Skirt that I made for Katie's birthday several months ago, her grey sweater from last year's Halloween costume, and added a few more fun things.

And even though Hermione probably wouldn't bring a quilt to the library, she just might want one for a bit of summer studying outdoors in the shade.

And even though the kids are lobbying hard to keep this quilt, it's currently listed in my shop here.

So for more details and pictures of everything (You really can't fully appreciate the quilt without seeing the back.) head over to CraftingCon at Mae and K to see the full post.

CraftingCon has both guest tutorials and a competition going.  I'm the second contestant in the competition (voting is later), and you'll want to be sure to see the first Harry Potter entry by Ren from The Inspired Wren.  Her project is AWESOME and she filled her post with tons of clever Harry Potter references...it's a fun read.  Besides her totally amazing cover-up, you'll want to see the swimsuit that's underneath it.

See these links for more details about other Harry Potter themed crafts we've done...and be sure to check back because I'll be adding more as I get them written up.
